A King is Borne

A King is borne
Innocence had
No place
No intention
No forced crucible
Not imposed
Rather chosen

At six-years a copycat
To Copywrite
To Copyright

Maturity eluded, success postponed
But a silver lining within
Learned of old habits

Success finds a home
Brings new habits
Adopted, then borne
Born at a price
Now borne for life

Strength evaded
Demons invaded
A life of wonderment
Now of torment

Cocaine
The gift, a sword
Double-edged
At once bearable
A torrent of fame
At once a burden
A torrent of shame

Tragically borne
Years of ailment
Almost ruined
But another silver lining within

Cujo, forgotten novel
Wrote from drunken stupor
One of tens upon tens upon tens
Did not matter
Never did

He will always be It
And it will always be borne
